And while we're at it, Donkey Kong Country Trilogy has better sprites as well. I simply don't enjoy anything about this game and even though Square are graphic whores I prefer the sprites from say Chrono Trigger over Mario RPG which looks ugly. I get that in Mario's universe anthro objects like bombs are a thing, but it's still a lame concept for a villain. Real stupid compared to villains like Dimentio. And I think that the main villains being a gang of literal anthro weapons is just stupid.
Cannot stand the semi 3D but not quite game structure either which makes the platforming bits more difficult than necessary.Īnd the story.I just don't like it. Anyone else think that Mario RPG is not that good? Game has wonky mechanics that Mario and Luigi did much better (the jumping to increase damage mechanic).
